Resident Evil 5 Limited Collector’s Edition

Resident Evil 5 Limited Collector’s Edition
Released: 2009
Platform: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Regions: Europe

Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The Collector’s Edition, containing the steelbook, a figurine, a bag, a necklace and a BSAA patch, was only released in the US, while the Limited Collector’s Edition served as the PAL version. Despite sounding even more special, this was actually simply the steel book, and a bonus disc. This article shows the Xbox 360 version of this edition.

First of all, this thing was quite overpriced. I remember paying around 75 euros for it, but it actually cost 80, which is an exceptionally high price for just a steelbook.

Having said that, it does look nice. The front has a minimalistic design: the word ‘Kijuju’ scribbled in messy handwriting over and over again, with the burning 5 on the center giving a nice contrast.

On the back: Chris and Sheva armed and ready to take down hordes of zombies.

This edition comes with two discs: of course the game itself, but also a bonus disc that contains making of videos and artworks.

The inside of the case contains some art as well. This is what you would see moments before being chopped up by a bunch of zombies.

All in all, this is a very decent collector’s edition, albeit a bit underwhelming. It should just have been cheaper. That said, the steel book does look nice. Just don’t get this one for the extras.
