Bayonetta 2 First Print Edition
Platform: Wii U
Bayonetta 2 was released in 2014, exclusively for Wii U. In Europe, three different versions were available: the regular version, a bundle that contained both Bayonetta 1 and 2, and the First Print edition. This is the one described below.
The First Print Edition sold out quickly as demand exceeded supply. Only 15.300 copies of this edition were made for the whole of Europe, as is written on the back of the box.
The overall package is pretty large: the box is shaped like a book, and this is stored in a protective plastic sleeve with a cardboard bar on top for protection. The box, called the Angel’s Book, looks and feels quite nice: sturdy, with shiny gold decorations.
When you fold the sides away (seems to be hold shut by magnets), you reveal the inner compartment holding the games.
On the left side (attached to the inside of the cover) is a booklet with drawings of different enemies from the game. There aren’t a lot of pages but what’s there looks very nice.
What’s cool about this edition is that you not only get the Wii U version of the original Bayonetta, but it even comes in its own case. Usually extra content like this is included in the form of redeemable codes for the digital version, so it’s nice to see something as complete as this.
So, that’s about it. Quite a good collector’s edition considering its rarity and the fact that you basically get two games for the price as one. Plus, it looks quite fancy!
