Resident Evil 2 Steelbook Edition

Resident Evil 2 Steelbook Edition
Platform: PlayStation 4
Year: 2019
Region: PAL

A remake of the survival horror game from 1998, Resident Evil 2 released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in January of 2019, more than two decades after the original. The game has been completely rebuilt using Capcom’s new RE Engine, and received favorable reviews from the press. Alongside the release of the game, several different versions were available. In Europe, there’s a collector’s edition that comes with a statue and some other goodies, a special edition exclusive to a French retailer, and a more basic steelbook edition (sold separately in some regions, and with the game included in others).

The steelbook features a low key image with a zombie face emerging from the darkness, blood dripping from its teeth, with the title of the game below it. The PS4 logo and other information are on the transparent sleeve, leaving the steelbook itself nice and clean.

The logo of the Umbrella Corporation can be found on the back of the case.

Inside are some instructions and a download code for the Elza Walker costume for Claire Redfield, one of the game’s playable characters. And of course the game disc itself.

On the inside of the steelbook is an artwork showing the skyline of Raccoon City, the fictional American town in which the game takes place.

That’s basically all there is to this edition. Nothing too exciting, but for a version that costs the same as the normal game (which already is being sold for a budget price) this is a nice option.
