Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe Edition

Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe Edition
Platform: PlayStation 4
Year: 2019
Region: PAL

More than 11 years after the release of Devil May Cry 4, fans finally got a new numbered entry in the ground breaking franchise that started the stylish action genre. Devil May Cry 5 was released in March of 2019, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. In most European countries, two different physical versions were available: a regular edition and a steelbook version containing some digital extras called the Deluxe Edition.

The steelbook comes in a glossy paper sleeve with an artwork of Nico’s van, with the game’s distinct neon logo on its side serving as the title.

The steelbook itself looks really nice, featuring the three playable characters (Nero, Dante and newcomer V) against a background with bright purple and pink colors. The shiny surface really makes the colors pop.

The back of the case shows the same scene as seen from the other side, as the characters walk towards a group of demons.

Inside is of course the game disc, and two sheets of paper, one with some warnings, the other with a list if the downloadable extras. They include alternate costumes, behind the scenes live action cutscenes, four devil breakers and some more stuff.

On the inside of the steelbook is an image of Nero aiming his double barreled revolver, the Blue Rose.

In conclusion, not a bad edition. While it does not come with a ton of extras, the case is beautiful and between the steelbook and the paper sleeve, you get two different cover arts. The digital extras are nice as well, though not everyone will want to take a shortcut by getting 100000 red orbs for free. Either way, for an edition that’s only slightly more expensive than the regular version, this is a good option for collectors and Devil May Cry fans alike.
