Star Fox Zero First Print Edition
Star Fox Zero First Print Edition
Platform: Wii U
Year: 2016
Region: PAL
Star Fox Zero was released in April of 2016, exclusively for Wii U. It was developed by Platinum Games, the studio that also created the Wii U exclusives The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2. As with the latter, a special edition called the First Print Edition was made available alongside the regular version.
This special edition comes in the kind of box we’re familiar with for Nintendo games: a cardboard package with a little handle on top.
Another thing Nintendo games usually have are nice colorful artworks, and Star Fox Zero’s boxart fulfills this expectation. Of course we do have to deal with that ugly German rating logo since this is a European edition.
It also includes with an extra game: Star Fox Guard, which even comes in its own box. This game can be purchased separately as well, but this is the only way to get it on disc.
Lastly, a stylish looking steelbook. It has a drawing of the Arwing running along the sides on both the front and the back, as well as the game’s logo and the Star Fox logo. When spread out you can see the entire spaceship, and the title of the game on the spine.
The steelbook itself is empty, but there’s room for two discs so you can keep both Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard in there. On the inside of the case is a technical drawing of the Arwing, showing its properties and specifications.
Though not as limited as the First Print Edition of Bayonetta 2, the one for Star Fox Zero is still a cool package. It wasn’t a lot more expensive than the regular game, and considering it comes with a steelbook and a complete copy of Star Fox Guard, it’s a pretty good deal.
