The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Premium Edition)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Premium Edition)
Platform: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
Year: 2015
Region: PAL

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A collector’s edition containing a statue was released alongside the regular version of the game. But even the regular version itself isn’t so regular. In an attempt to please ‘gamers who want more from physical box editions than just the disc and manual’, as the developer puts it, they shipped each copy of the game with several extras.

This ‘regular version’ of the game is widely referred to as the Premium Edition, even though the box itself doesn’t show this title. It comes with a paper sleeve mentioning the included extras. The game’s manual can be found underneath this paper sleeve, instead of in the box itself, as it’s too big to fit inside.

Inside the case is a thank you note from the developer, mentioning the 16 free DLCs you get right away.

Then there is a soundtrack CD, consisting of no less than 31 tracks.

Also, a booklet containing information on the game’s world and its inhabitants. Unfortunately it isn’t in color, but complaining would be unfair in this case.

And a sheet with two stickers.

But perhaps the coolest extra is a large map of the game world, showing the enormous environments and cities of The Continent in detail.

All in all, a very nice package considering this is sold as the regular version of the game, with both free downloadable content as well as physical extras. Other developers and publishers, take note please!
