Collector's Editions

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Limited Edition

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves launched in 2009 for PlayStation 3. In Europe, two versions of the game were released: a regular one and a steelbook, called the Limited Edition Collector’s Box. The name sounds quite impressive, but it’s actually a modest collector’s edition.

The main draw is the steelbook, decorated with a gracious emblem, and complete with worn look. When taken out of the sleeve, it has a nice, uncluttered look with a subdued color palette.

Opening the case reveals the game disc and the manual.

Also included are two art ‘cards’, as the game calls them. But as nice as that sounds, these are really underwhelming. It’s nothing more than two thin pieces of paper, barely the size of a post card, with artworks from the game on them. They feel more like flyers you can pick up for free at a store than actual cards.

When you remove the disc and manuals, you can see two artworks showing an area from the game printed on the inside of the case, one on each side.

There’s also some bonus content, like a PlayStation 3 theme, weapons for online multiplayer and skins.

And that’s basically all it is. Needless to say this collector’s edition doesn’t impress with its extras. However, the case does look really nice, and it wasn’t very expensive. So with that in mind, this isn’t a bad collector’s edition at all.
