The Yakuza Remastered Collection Day One Edition
The Yakuza Remastered Collection Day One Edition
Platform: PlayStation 4
Year: 2020
Region: PAL
Released in February of 2020, The Yakuza Remastered Collection includes 3 different games from the series, completing the franchise on PlayStation 4. It comes with remastered editions of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5, originally PlayStation 3 games. This marks the first time Yakuza 5 is released physically in the west, as it was previously a digital-only title. It also means that with this release, all of the numbered Yakuza games are now available on PS4.
The collection comes in a special bundle, called the Limited Day One Edition. It consists of a red digipack with an image of Kiryu’s tattoo on the front.

Inside are two cases. On of those is a paper case featuring the same design as the outer box, holding two discs. The first of the discs contains both Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4, the other Yakuza 5.

On the back is the logo of the developer of the Yakuza games, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios.

Behind the transparent disc holder are two images of tattoos, belonging to Goro Majima and Daigo Dojima respectively.

It also comes with a sticker bearing the logo of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.

Printed on the case are written messages of some of the people behind the game, including directors Toshihiro Nagoshi and Jun Orihara and sound composer Hidenori Shoji.

The second item in the pack is a PlayStation 3 case, meant for those collectors who had to do without a physical item to put on their shelf. Unfortunately it does not actually contain a disc, but it still a nice little extra.

All in all this is a cool bundle for fans of the series seeking to complete their Yakuza collection on PlayStation 4. Mainly the physical release of Yakuza 5 outside of Japan is something collectors have hoped for for years, and now they can finally hold the disc in their hands.
