Over the years, Premium Packages, limited edition versions containing several extras, have released alongside nearly every Metal Gear game. The first game in the series to receive such a special edition was Metal Gear Solid for the original PlayStation.

The Metal Gear Solid Premium Package came out in Japan on September 3rd, 1998. This is the only Premium Package that was also released outside of Japan – or to be exact: a somewhat different version was available in the PAL region, with some of the contents being the same and others different.

Yoshi’s Woolly World Green Yarn Yoshi Amiibo Bundle

Yoshi’s Woolly World Green Yarn Yoshi Amiibo Bundle
Platform: Wii U
Year: 2015
Region: PAL

Yoshi’s Woolly World released in 2015, exclusively for Wii U. Aside from the regular edition, a bundle was also available containing the game and a Green Yarn Yoshi Amiibo.

It comes in the familiar packaging Nintendo has used for almost every Amiibo bundle: a rectangular cardboard box with a window on the corner showing the Amiibo.

The amiibo comes in his own box, though in this case the Amiibo can be bought separately as well (as well as some other color varieties). What is cool about this Amiibo is that it isn’t made from plastic but from actual yarn, just like Yoshi is in the game. It’s also pretty large, easily twice as big as the squid Amiibo that comes with the Splatoon bundle.

The box and disc both look great, with colorful pictures of Yoshi and other creatures and elements as they appear in the game world.

In conclusion, a very nice collector’s edition considering it costs only a little more than the game itself. Amiibos are often difficult to find so getting one with this edition is certainly a plus.
